Army Sgt. Cuellar, 24, of Odessa, Tex., was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based in Schweinfurt, Germany, where he served all five years of his Army career. He died May 30, 2007, of wounds sustained when the vehicle he was in struck a makeshift bomb in Baghdad, Iraq.

Sgt. Cuellar, a 2000 Permian High School graduate, loved music and performed in the school's drum line. He was a superb percussionist. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted and headed to boot camp where he graduated with honors. The Texas Legislature issued a Resolution on the announcement of his death, “Sergeant ‘Bozzy’ Cuellar embodied the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces, and those who knew and loved him will forever carry him close in their hearts.”

According to his family, Sgt. Cuellar was a loving person with a huge heart. He always cooperated and did whatever he was asked without complaining.

He is survived by his wife, Nichole and sons, Sebastian Cole, Jeremy Shane, and Cayden Xavion.
